Our History

SoBrite was incorporated in 1975. Its main focus was building large self-service car
washes with touch free high-pressure automatics. A typical car wash had 10 bays: 3
truck stalls, 5 car stalls and 2 high-pressure touch free automatics. All opened with
spot-free rinsing. Most of these car washes were company owned. At one time we
were involved with over 25 different locations, in 6 different states.

We learned quickly that the city water supplies were all different, primarily the water
hardness, iron and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). TDS is what causes spotting.

The water hardness and iron were easy to address; a simple water conditioner sized for
each location took care of this problem.

The TDS removal required more treatment. The first location’s spot-free water was
produced by a process known as “deionization” (DI). This was the best way at the time
to produce a flow of 40 plus gallons per minute. As membrane technology improved we
converted to “reverse osmosis” (RO). Today we manufacture our own line of RO units,
ranging from 50 to 16,000 gallons per day (GPD).

In 1985, the company split its operation. SoBrite and the car washes separated.
SoBrite’s manufacturing operations started offering its equipment nationally.

SoBrite soon became a water treatment company. We manufacture equipment to serve
several different areas: Car Wash, Automotive, Food Service and Industrial
Applications.

Our clientele include: Caterpillar, Inc., Draft Foods, Central Soya, Crown Cork & Seal,
Nestle’ Foods, Wayne Feeds, Capri Sun, Bunn-O-Matic, Mercedes-Benz of North
America Port of Entry, as well as many independent commercial car washes and
automobile dealerships.

We are confident that we can help you address your specific water needs and
requirements.
